This week’s photo challenge was wonderful to see! We know that the words “Back to School” can either bring tears of joy…or tears of trepidation (depending on who it is returning to school!) Any way you look at it though, Back to School is a big occasion for everyone! This week gave us a chance to show off a little of our private lives and what we take pride in: our children, of all ages. The new clothes, the fun new school supplies, the personal choices in backpacks, all show a frozen moment we all share in common.
1st Place: Angela Valerie Photography
This week’s Guest Photographer Judge, Misty Keasler, said of the winning photo by Angela Valerie: This image is beautiful and its strength comes from a genuine moment and is steeped in the tradition of documentary photographers such as Lauren Greenfield. This is photography at it’s best – a true moment that easily translates real emotion.
2nd Place: Leilani Price
I just loved this photo the moment I saw it. The light and color really stood out – it’s stunning. It has a painterly quality about it that is reminiscent of a Loretta Lux photograph.

3rd Place: Kristine’s World
This image also has a strong documentary feel to it. Although the boy in the foreground is the focal point, there are also all these great moments which also seem to have been captured simultaneously with his glance and mischievous smile.

4th Place: Mischief and Laughs
5th Place: Younker Family
6th Place: Pyjammy
7th Place: A Sweet Blue Life
8th Place: Emily Jarvis
9th Place: StinaMarie27
10th Place: SunnyKeri
Each week we (Angie & Amy) like to show off some of our favorite entries as well! Here are our picks…

I am thrilled that Angie and Amy picked my picture as one of their favorites for the week. There are always so many fabulous entries. I am so glad I discovered the I Heart Faces Community. A great place to find inspiration. Thanks!
Congrats to all the winners and thanks for including me in your faves Angie and Amy, my daughter is super excited! I have had tons of questions about the wallpaper in the background, it is a selection of 70 different wallpaper samples all cut to the same height (varying widths) and painstakingly stuck on the wall!
