- If you are newer to our site, you will want to read our FAQ’s. Please note that we do not accept any entries from Facebook.
- Since this is a non-competition week, faces do not have to be showing in your entry post and you can have as many “Red, White & Blue” photos in your post as you’d like! We’d love to see everything you can share that fits in with this theme.

My entry is #183. I was so excited to get some photos of my granddaughter wearing the same dress her Mommy wore when she was 2 years old on the 4th of July. Because they were both born in June all of the cute outfits I saved for my daughter to pass on to her daughter fit perfectly. And of course the dress fit perfectly with the Red, White and Blue theme.
Right now, I’m at #181. This is a photo of 2 of my nieces and their good friend who they typically only see 4th of July weekend when our families meet at my parents’ cottage on the Rappahannock River in VA. The girls have so much fun together every 4th of July. Here they have painted each others’ faces and gussied up for the local 4th of July parade.
This is my little girl all dressed up. She loves to dress up and when I saw this dress I just had to have it for our Americana shoot. Her name is Bella which is why I named the photo Bella Americana.
We will be moving to Texas in a few weeks which is another reason this photo shoot was fun since we added a touch of Texas whimsy with the cowgirl boots and the patriotic chicken.
#169 There’s this house in our hometown that I have loved ever since I set eyes on the HUGE Texas flag painted on the whole side of the house. I knew from the time my daughter was born, “this was the house for photos”! Well the day had come this past 4th of July. As I was talking w/the owners about “borrowing the house” for a photo shoot, my daughter who was getting impatient as we chatted about “how the painting” came to be, she leaned up against the house and I captured this shot!!! Perfect for this weeks entry and truly we are Texas Proud!!
I took my Daughter, Jillian, along on a One Year session of her Best Buddy, Hunter. We had brought the flags to tuck into his overalls, but Jillian found them, gave him one and sat next to him waving her favorite colors with so much Joy! During the fireworks on the fourth the two of them squealed with delight and waved their flags proudly.
My family spends a lot of our summers on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, in the town of Rock Hall in particular. We just discovered this small town not too long ago, so we’re just getting to know it and its many celebrations. This was our 2nd 4th of July and I’m really falling in love with its small town charm.

I didn’t get to meet Cameron until his wedding day, because he is a proud member of the United States Marine Corps, and was not able to take leave until the week of his wedding. I had heard so much about him from his bride Jessica, however, that I was anxious to meet this remarkable young man. It was so important to her that Cameron and his fellow Marines be treated with respect on her wedding day, and her highest priority was to capture the beauty of their dedication and sacrifice. When she first spoke about her fiance and his chosen path, she must have used the word “respect” about a million times. And after an hour with Jessica, I respected Cameron without ever having even met him. This photo was captured during a quiet moment the two shared on their truly amazing wedding day… #157
Entry # 136 is of my 3 little firecrackers. I love doing patriotic shoots. Thanks for the perfect theme this week. After church my hubby took his tie off and put it on our youngest son. I love this captured moment of these 3 brothers!!!
My entry is number 49 and for some reason, it simply links you to the picture. This picture was taken in 2007 in Merriam, Kansas. It was taken just across the road from where I went to elementary school. Every Fourth of July, they set up hundreds of flags in this little park. I talked my sweetie into stopping there so I could snap some pictures. Imagine my good luck when a mama brought her beautiful little patriotic girl to run through the flags. I tried not to stalk tooooo much ;o)
Lea… Thank you to your husband and you for your service. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for the sacrifices you both make.
My photos show my cousins funeral in Arlington. He is my hero, dying for our freedom in Afghanistan last year.

I didn’t get as many pictures as I would have liked yesterday, but I did catch both my youngest son and youngest daughter wearing the red white and blue hats that I made for them on Sunday!

My entry, #114, Small Town America, is from our Frontier Days parade held on the 4th. Frontier Days celebrated its’ 85th anniversary this year and has the honor of holding the longest continuously run rodeo in the state of California. Our 4th of July celebrations are the quintessential small town USA experience and I love it.

My entry (#90 right now
is of my little sister, Emily. She wouldn’t cooperate the entire time, but I did manage to get 1 smile out of her…now that she knows how to walk, she would just get up and leave when she wasn’t happy…I think I need an assistant

What a celebration! The 4th of July is a great day to celebrate our country, friends and family. There is no “wrong” way to celebrate, whether it is with a huge group of people watching fireworks, or just with your immediate family and a few friends having a delicious meal and just being together. I love this holiday….for me it is about teaching our kids about the freedoms we have, and also about being proud. These kids are so happy, they were laughing SO hard at their friends getting a little silly, marching up and down their street singing “I’m a Yankee Doodle Dandy”. What a day!
My husband and I came up with the idea to try to catch a reflection of a flag in our daughter’s eye. It was a lot harder than I thought it would be but I finally got the picture I wanted! (#67 right now) Can’t wait to go see all the other entries this week!!

I just wanted to share an image of my husband. I’m so proud to be married to a soldier who is willing to literally lay down his life if need be.
My kids just love all things patriotic- so this week’s challenge was super fun for them. My girls loved having an excuse to get that close to the cake I made to celebrate the holiday!
