It feels like just yesterday that we were in San Antonio helping lead our latest Photography Workshop for Women. We had such a fabulous time hanging out with our workshop attendees and several of our I Heart Faces Contributors who came to San Antonio to help us lead the photography sessions.
We enjoyed meeting 15 new ladies each day (Friday and Saturday) who were there to build their portfolios, network with other photographers in our community, learn more about how to build their businesses and utilize social media effectively…and also to pick the brains of amazing photographers like Jessica Paige, Rachel Durik, Keli Hoskins and Julie Rivera. We loved that so many ladies got to meet our contributors in person and learn from them!
Don’t miss it! Registration for our summer workshops opens up today.
We have made some major changes and are rounding up even more amazing sponsors to help subsidize our workshop costs…which means rock bottom pricing for all of you! Our Park City, UT and Orange County, CA workshops are now only $595 per person. Spots will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis so reserve your place today!
San Antonio – Dream Big Photography Workshop Re-Cap
We began each morning of our workshop by giving our attendees the opportunity to photograph three entirely different sessions through which they could build their portfolios with gorgeous images.
Red Riding Hood Photography Session
The stylizing for this session was simple and yet made such a profound impact in the setting where we chose to work. Angie’s daughter, Weslea, was such a wonderful little model! We want to pack her into our suitcases and drag her along to every single one of our workshops now.

Vintage Baseball Photography Session
Our two little boy models were such troopers sitting through three sessions for two days in a row! We made sure to bribe them with plenty of treats along the way. {hee!} This was a high-stylized session designed around the fabulous printables that Amy Locurto created.

High School Senior Photography Session
Our attendees were so blessed to be able to work with a gorgeous young lady model each day during this portfolio building session…the lovely Lauren (who is a super talented photographer herself) on Friday and the beautiful Sarah on Saturday. Both of our models did a fabulous job and all of the photographers were able to learn many tips and tricks for working with high school seniors during their sessions.

Afternoon Session
After we finished up our portfolio building sessions, we headed back to downtown San Antonio to eat a well-deserved (and super yummy!) lunch together. We enjoyed an intimate discussion each day during which our attendees could ask us and our contributors any questions they had concerning their business, working with clients, branding, social media or anything else they could think of. This honestly was one of the most enjoyable parts of the workshop for us…sitting down and talking with other experienced photographers and entrepreneurs is an amazing way to learn and grow together!
Our attendees also enjoyed being introduced to the basics of studio light photography by our friend, D’Ann Wright. With her numerous years of experience as a commercial photographer and with Weslea (once again!) posing as our model, it was impossible to take a bad photo!

We all also decided to get brave and shoot headshots of one another during this time. Julie even talked the two of us into having one taken together…and threatened us with all kinds of bad things if we didn’t add this photo to our recap post. She’s tough like that!
We now have our very favorite photo of the two of us ever!

San Antonio Photo Walk
Another enjoyable part of this workshop for us was the optional photo walk that our attendees were able to attend on Friday evening. All of the attendees had already “met” in the private Facebook Group we set up for them quite some time ago, but this was a chance for all of the Friday attendees to meet the Saturday attendees in person. We had such a wonderfully fun (and chaotic!) time hanging out together and photographing whatever we happened to see along the way.
Our fabulous couple who modeled for us on the photo walk were Nate and Jenna Simpson (she is also a wonderful photographer who actively participates here at I Heart Faces.) Weslea, who was such a trooper, filled in as a model again as well.

A special thank you to Jessica Paige, Rachel Durik, Julie Rivera, Amy Locurto, and Angie Arthur for providing all of the photos we used in this recap post.
