Hi everyone from New Zealand,
I’m excited to share my first entry, ‘Running Free’, portraying two of my favourite things – my three youngest boys and the beauty of the sea coast of my country. Come and take a cyber visit!

I can’t get my linky to show up??? I’ve tried twice. I don’t usually have a problem, but here’s the link – JUST IN CASE it doesn’t turn up.

My entry (#429) is of my oldest daughter making the life-changing decision of whether or not she wants to go down the biggest slide she has ever seen. It’s the very colorful and musical slide at the City Museum in St. Louis.

This is my first contest and I am enjoying it. I just went through a lot of entries that were submitted this week and I am impressed. There are so many talented photographers with so many styles. Each has to offer something different and unique.
For this week’s theme, I think wedding is a great event to capture those moments from distance because we want to give our clients space to enjoy themselves and feel a little bit of that sweet privacy. There are many great photos like that here and I really like them a lot.
On top of my list are also hot air balloon picture, snorkeling, and I have so many wedding ones that I can’t decide which one is a favorite.
My picture is #339 and it is of a friend on top of a hill looking at the beautiful blue sky. She was posing before this shot and when I told her I needed to adjust my camera, she just kept looking up so I quickly adjusted my setting and snapped this photo. I call it “away from earth and into the sky”. We are so concerned about what’s going on around us on the ground, we forget to look up and enjoy the skies.
I hope you like the photo and I am looking forward to submitting more of my work here in the future.

I took this picture ( #424) of my daughter dancing in my parents’ field. She had on her fun skirt, her rain boots, and french tank so she thought she was snazzy! She was just singing and dancing and I couldn’t resist taking pictures! I love this one as it looks like she is an Irish step dancer!
This is my first entry. I entered it incorrectly (#416 right now) but the second time was the charm (#417 at the moment). I took this photo over 2 years ago but the photos I took that day of my children running around in the field and discovering and examining dandelions are some of my most cherished–the light was beautiful, and my daughter just was her curious, attentive, 2-year old self, totally unaware of the camera…how much better does it get?

My picture is #413 Titled “The View”. I caught our dog looking over the hill just staring off into the distance and just had to grab the camera and take a picture!

Maggie asked me to dress her up and ‘do chalk, Meme’ for when Mommy comes home with her new baby brother, Sam.
This was a fun challenge… I entered an iphone pic, is that okay? I have so many that I just love. SO many great entries this week, as usual!

Sorry mine posted twice, I was having issues with my Internet connection and now I can’t figure out how to remove it.
My entry t was taken this weekend at a beautiful wedding in Traverse City, Michigan. We took some pictures on the dock and to be honest, the sun was a bit harsh at the moment and I was contemplating my next move to work with the light. I told them to head to the end and just be. Be in love. I hung back to survey the scene and then I saw it. The beautiful symmetry of the two towering masts. Both directly pointing down and highlighting the two perfectly. And then. They kissed. And I snapped. And then I did a giddy little dance that I sometimes do when I get a shot that I. just. love. Sometimes the distance puts it all back in perspective!
~jen #406 (and #407 at the moment!)
A couple that I was taking pictures of heading towards my actual location (old abandoned church on hill). They looked soo cute walking up there while she was holding her shoes and holding hands that I had to capture that moment.

I am loving my 24-70mm lens these days, and paired up w/ my full frame, it sure does offer a perspective that makes you feel like you are sitting in the middle of the photograph. My daughter LOVES this bear, and when I tell you that it goes everywhere with her, I am not lying =). I was hoping to get some photos of my 2 girls…boy did we have fun.
I’m #375 or there about’s…This photo was a lesson in patience and tenacity. Hubs (the other half of our photography duo) watched the online surf feeds thru high season and took a vacation day when they called for big swells. He raced down to the harbor and talked to 5 boats until he found one that had room. He was on this boat with a borrowed zoom and a bunch of pro photogs that had multi thousand dollar lenses (he admitted to lens envy). But it all paid off! He got a number of amazing shots and I spent a few hours running thru them, picking my favs, and processing.

My entry is of the “big picture” behind a portrait session. Usually you only see the actual portrait and don’t see what all is going on to make it look the way it does.

My photo is #366. This photo just happened at the last wedding I photographed. I was taking a photo of the bride and her husband was standing behind her watching her lovingly. I loved the moment then told him to sling his jacket over his shoulder! Success…or at least I think so. Let me know what you think…good, bad, or ugly!
Sorry mine posted twice! I can’t seem to remove one!
My girls, in their ‘princess dresses’ dancing and playing.

#85 – This is my first time entering the challenge. I really like the challenge. It made me look back and really enjoy my pictures that are not so close up, but still say so much from a distance!
This was my very first entry so I hope I entered correctly.

Hi! mine is #30 (or click on my name to see it on my blog). i started challenging myself & pushing my creative limits recently. i came up with a storytelling idea, in which i take little pieces of my 3 and 2 year olds’ personalities and create just one image that really tells who they are in their little lives right now. i’m having so much fun, learning new things and the best part – i will get to add these images to the walls in my home & in our yearly book so that i can always remember.

Beautiful shot!! Looks dreamy
Love this weeks challenge. From a distance there is harmony…. otherwise there is tattling.

So I am VERY new to this! I am in awww of the photos I see on here and know that these contests will push me to become a better photographer, not only my clients but myself as well!
As of right now my photo is #281 “Boys Will Be Boys”. Please check it out and let me know your thoughts!
I have discovered that some of the best shots are those in which you catch your subject “Caught in the Moment”. Take little Lucas for example, playing with a stick and whacking at the tree. Just goes to show that no matter how early it is in the morning, or when a stranger is following you around with a camera, Boys will be Boys!

This is my first time entering, I did not use the linky tool, but I did post the link,is that still ok? Beautiful photos everyone!
Love that I came across this website. It gives me a reason to play with the camera. I usually like close up photos so this one was a challenge to find a good distance that was still far away but framed in a nice way. I hope I achieved that (#208).

I marvel at the level of talent I see on this site every week … It is such a joy to look at everyone’s photos. I’m still deep in my educational phase, but am enjoying the process of learning more about photo processing right now. I submitted a picture that I took this week of my daughter that I think captures so much about her … her fun personality, her deeply complex inner creativity, and of course, her love for the beach. Thanks I Heart Faces, for providing such an inspiring venue!
Currently my photo is listed as #268 / Kelly Mooney … Thanks for checking it out!

I’m lovin’ this weeks challenge! While on vacation in NC I took a walk on the beach hoping to get some pretty sunrise shots. Here’s the result: http://www.flickr.com/photos/reneecatalfano/
I’m a newbie photographer and am very inspired by all of the creative people on this site -I would really LOVE to get some constructive criticism on this photograph from some of you so shoot on over…you don’t even have to be nice :p
This is also my first entry here. My children were running away down an apple trail with no cares in the world. The way childhood should be.

The photo “Cave Kiss” (currently #45) was taken last month at an engagement shoot. The couple showed me one of their favorite places which was a dark, damp, creppy cave with lots of bugs down the side of a hill off of the side of the road that actually went undreaneath the road…I was “stoked” to go inside this boggyman stayle cave
As soon as I went inside I turned around and LOVED the opening of the cave. Not only is it one of my favorite photos for framing, color pop, silhouette reasons, but it was so them. They just got cozy, kissed, snuggled and spent some quiet moments together while I snapped away from a ways off.

Last week we were at a park that had a gigantic lawn used for croquet and lawn bowling tournaments. It was empty, though, so my husband and kids turned it into a giant “Red Light, Green Light” course using crazy actions and signals. They were having so much fun. Here they are discussing the signals. Love them against the hedge with the beautiful building in the background.

I love this weeks theme. My picture is the first family picture ever taken of our family a little over two years ago. I’ve always loved the shot even though none of us are directly looking at the camera and we are off in the distance.

I was hoping someone could help me. I am new to I Heart Faces posting, and i can’t figure out the linky tool. It is like it is telling me to create a linky tool in order for others to post on MY BLOG…but I just need the linky to post on here! I don’t know how to get that! I have registered for free for 30 days…now what? Help please!
This is my first challenge, and I hope I entered correctly. As of now my photo is 155, it’s labeled “Bremer Pic”. This picture is a picture of my little girl, (after she got a hold of my eye shadow and applied it as blush) and her canine brother Odinn. She ran to him as I was trying to get the eye shadow from her. All the pictures around mine are absolutely beautiful so i don’t stand a chance. But it’s been fun entering and reading the blogs. My photography skills are limited to just taking pictures of my family and environment, but I’m looking to take it to another level. Any comments, critiques, on my picture would be appreciated.
The shadow in my photo is probably my favourite thing about it! I captured 2 people climbing a huge sand dune on the beach near my home.

Climbing huge rocks is a favorite conquest of my brothers so I used one of the many pictures I have of him standing in the distance on top of his giant rock.

# 58 ~ I love this weeks challenge… because I love this picture I took of a high school senior last month!
