Post image for Photo Challenge | From a Distance

Welcome to this week’s photo challenge where all skill levels of photographers are able to join in the fun!

Our photo challenges are open for entries on Mon & Tues (until 9:00 pm CST). To be considered as a winner of this week’s challenge, you can only have ONE photo in your entry. Please make sure that you add our button to your blog post as well so that you’ll be eligible to win!

  • This week’s theme is “From a Distance.”  Read more details here.
  • If you are newer to our site, you will want to read our FAQ’s.
  • Please remember that a person needs to be in your photo entry if you’d like to be considered as a winner (for this week only, a face does not have to be clearly showing!)
  • If your entry has been deleted, it is because you entered your link incorrectly. Please go ahead and reenter it correctly using a permalink to your post.

# 505 Walk @ the Lake
This is my first time entering any of my photography into any type of contest!

I am forcing myself to put myself out there more and hopefully by the time my husband is done with his apprenticeship program in 2 years, I’ll have a body of work and a client base and can move in to photography full time and quit my desk job. Say a Prayer that happens!

I Heart Faces is a fabulous place for me to get lost in and have gained a lot of great info and tips! Thank You.

My from a distance picture was taken at White Sands, New Mexico. We had just moved to New Mexico from the cold, cold midwest the day before. Visiting White Sands was like stepping into a dream of pure white, sparkly, warm, rippled sand that went on forever , accented by the clearest blue skies you can imagine. We completely lost ourselves that day. The picture is of my two sons about to slide down a dune and my husband catching up to them. If you’ve never been to White Sands, you NEED to go!

#224 – Beyond the Reef

We live on a tiny (44 sq mi) island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. Most of the time it’s great. This was our first journey out past the barrier the reef creates in the lagoon. It was just a snapshot that speaks volumes about our underwater world.

This is the first photo challenge I have entered…
I couldn’t resist it when I saw the title: From a Distance
My brother and sister are spending holidays in New Zealand, while I live in Ireland, and make the most of his beautiful little country!
I thought I should add their very beautiful picture (in which they had to run, as there was no people around to take it for them!) because it just shows a true Kiwi Beauty!
I am not a photographer, but I just love capturing little bits of life!

God bless
Tami

Dance at Sunset

This is the very first photo contest I have been in. I honestly love it, the theme was great, I love the way everything is set up. It was so easy to use. Plus, it gave me a chance to see other peoples perspective and for them to give you feedback. With this weeks theme being “From a Distance”. I choose a picture of my niece, the photo was taken on easter. We had gone on a shoot, out of 200 photos from this session, this was the very last one. She was just messing around dancing, and who knew it would be such a beautiful photo. When I saw the theme, I instantly knew what photo to use. Thanks I Heart Faces for holding these challenges every week. I will be participating every week from now on. :)

We take our daughter out pretty much every night to ride her bike (she just learned to ride without training wheels!) at this church parking lot. In this scene, she is done riding and I asked my husband to show the kiddos his skills on the bike :D

My shot is of my daughters on a walk around a lake near our house. We’ve lived here for a year now and this was the first time we walked around the lake. We’ll be back many more times for sure!

I truly enjoy having a new challenge each week–to see what fresh and fun images I can come up with! This week’s entry for me was a just-so-happen photo, never really thought anything about it until I saw the theme for this week! Keep up the great work!

Love the theme this week. All the entries are so fun and unique. I don’t envy you having to pick winners. The settings on some of these photos are gorgeous!

My entry is from this past weekend visiting the family ranch with my ex-husband and beautiful daughter. New Beginnings. The trip was so wonderful that we made a decision to reconcile our family unit. Through GOD all things are possible. Thank you for allowing me to share my photo – I thought it represented all that I feel right now…rays of sweet sunshine beaming down on us.

GOD is good | love
Adela

PS So many stunning entries, good luck to everyone!

Distance & Relationship – It is the family in the distance, and the relationship to their pup in the foreground, that makes me “heart” this image. Thanks for the opportunity to revisit and reflect on our work:

I just re-submitted my photo (right now # 491) because I had two thumbnails before (due to a wrong link with my first) and the one that worked got deleted; the one that doesn’t work is still there. So, this one should work and you can delete “Intention” at #410 right now. Thanks so much. I should have the hang of this really well by next week with all the practice :-)

My shot this week is of my family fishing. I took it from my neighbors dock. It is a moment that I am glad I captured even if it is snap shotish. Thanks for hosting each week. I love these challenges!
