What a fun, cheerful week full of amazingly beautiful Yellow Entries! We found ourselves grinning from ear to ear as we viewed the bright, sunny entries.
We had so much fun featuring Joe Photo as our Guest Photographer Judge this week. He has a unique and creative artistry that has blown us away! One of our favorite quotes from his interview was: “Shoot the images that make you the most happy”. Love that!
Congratulations to Gray Benko whose photo was chosen as Joe Photo’s very favorite. Joe wrote: This image is so beautiful. I love the baby’s sweet expression and the monochromatic color palette. The “Yellow” theme really pops from the white and gray tones. The image is evenly lit with good highlights and shadows. I love the brightness of the image without the over saturating of the color. The diagonal lines of the floor boards offer a dynamic element that informs the context of the environment the portrait was shot in. I love the juxtaposition of the rough wood and bed frame with the soft skin and fabric. Well done!

Great moment capturing the joy of puddles and childhood. I love that the childs reflection is included in the composition.
3rd Place: Tonya Holsey
Clean, contemporary, beautifully exposed child’s portrait. Love the body language of the feet.

Charming child’s portrait. Soft and full of wonder.
5th Place: Danielle Nicole
Fashionable little girl in a flower field of yellow. I love that she’s not smiling at the viewer and her glasses draw you right into her eyes.

Simple, peaceful, soft expression. I like the shallow focus on her eyes.
7th Place: Allison MacPhail
Awesome expression of joy. Lots of yellow and nice curved, leading lines.
