First Place: davee blu
This week was a huge shout-out to all moms…we hope all of you thoroughly enjoyed your Mother’s Day and you were spoiled rotten! As we saw in many of this week’s entries, Motherhood is an amazing job….but it isn’t always easy. The entries provided us a chance to reminisce, giggle and remember fondly our own adventures as moms. Keli Hoskins, one of our I Heart Faces Contributors, was our Guest Photographer Judge this week. We love her photography to pieces and knew she was the perfect fit for this theme. Thanks for your help Keli!
Keli said of this week’s First Place winner, Davee Blu: this image spoke to me in a way that I just can’t explain… I kept coming back to it over and over again. the processing and texture drew me in, and I got lost in the softness of momma’s skirt and the little girl’s amazing curls. and even though the mother’s face isn’t fully shown, that smile says it all. that smile brought me to tears. Congratulations, Davee! If you get a chance, visit her blog to read of this mother’s touching adoption story behind the photo.
Second Place: Jessica Deane
this little curly-headed momma in training made me want to go out and borrow a toddler for a day. or maybe I could just borrow her? that light is absolutely perfect. it falls on her so beautifully, and I feel like I’m right there watching her take care of her baby.

Third Place: Catching Memories Photography
oh momma. I feel ya. every mother in the world knows exactly how you feel right now.

Fourth Place: Lacey Nielson
I have to be honest, I think hospital photos are hit or miss. you have a gajillion machines in there cluttering up the background, and the lighting is never good. but this one is beautifully perfect. just look at that momma’s face.

Fifth Place: Amber V Photography
love love love. love the tones, love the humor, love the candidness … I can actually hear that little girl giggling.

Sixth Place: Sonshine in a State of Grace

this should be the front cover of “what to expect when you’re expecting,” because THIS is what motherhood is all about! ps – can I come over for dinner?
Seventh Place: Running from the Law
Eighth Place: Jill Sloffer
please please PLEASE tell me there is a girl in that belly!! if so, those boys are going to spoil her rotten. I love it! (editor’s note: yes indeed, it is a baby girl.
)

Ninth Place: Shalie Morgan
her expression is priceless … she is so completely in love with that baby on her chest, she doesn’t care that she’s also totally exhausted.

Tenth Place: LaTonya Marie
so much love in one picture. I just … wow. that’s all I can say.

Each week we (Angie & Amy) like to show off some of our favorite entries as well! Here are our picks…

Next week’s photo theme is : May Flowers (No Faces)
We are both heading to San Antonio next week to teach at our I Heart Faces Dream Big Workshop! We are so very excited to finally get to meet our wonderful attendees.
Since it will be a super busy week we are not having a contest. We will instead be hosting a linky where everyone can show off their very favorite floral photos! You can have one floral photo in your post or you can have a gazillion. :) Let’s get in the spring spirit and show off some beautiful colors of nature this week!

These photos made me cry. My daughter has a sensory disorder and we’ve never shared a moment like this. I want her to pay attention to me and let me love her SO bad, but she’s just not the type.
Congrats to all the winners! Every one of these pictures were beautiful beyond belief. Look at all those babies! I feel the bug coming on
