Post image for Photo Challenge | May Flowers

Welcome to this week’s photo challenge where all skill levels of photographers are able to join in the fun!

We are both heading to San Antonio this week to teach at our I Heart Faces Dream Big Workshop (yay!!), so this week’s challenge is a non-contest one and is just for fun!  The Linky Tool will remain open for entries for most of the week.  Since this is a non-contest week, you can add as many photos as you’d like to your post.  We just ask that you please make sure that you add our button to your blog post as well.

  • This week’s theme is “May Flowers (No Faces).”  Read more details here.
  • If you are newer to our site, you will want to read our FAQ’s.
  • A human face does not have to be showing in your post at all this week.
  • If your entry has been deleted, it is because you entered your link incorrectly. Please go ahead and reenter it correctly using a permalink to your post.

I am definitely obsessed with taking flower pictures. I so thrilled there was a challenge I could participate in.
My husband and I do not share our children’s images on the web.

Sometimes I enjoy taking nature photos more than people because you don’t have to worry about getting them to smile or stop moving. :)

I have to apologize for the multiple entries- 488-492. I kept getting error messages when I loaded the picture. I kept adjusting the image size down to allow for upload. I guess I still have a lot to learn.
As to flowers vs. people, I love photographing flowers. You always have enough time to get your shot. However, you can’t capture the emotions and personalities of people. People are always better to photograph. They will always be my #1 choice.

Wow, a girl could get lost in all this beauty! So many fantastic entries! Flowers are one of my favorite ‘subjects’ to capture … looks like I’m not the only one … so may different varieties represented here, and all so beautiful! Frankly, I don’t know how they’ll choose! Well, back to tip-toeing through the tulips, daisies, dandelions, irises, pansies, roses, cherry blossoms, etc..etc..! lol! Have a wonderful weekend y’all! :)

Love taking still life type photos- flowers are so lush and aesthetically a no fail project. It’s the only area where I do a bit of arranging my shot!

Living out in the country, the only faces I see on a daily basis are usually critter faces, which is great — but I do love photographing flowers in the spring and summer.

Sorry, mine is entered twice (466 and 468) and I am not sure how to delete one. I was having problems uploading so I did it over, but it appears that both of them are on there. Sorry and let me know how I can fix this!

Thank you for hosting this challenge. I’m a new follower, and a novice with the camera. Any suggestions would be warmly received.
Also, this hop is found on a page on my site that lists more than 200 hops… some for each day of the week. Check under the header for the link to that page.
I hope you’ll visit me soon and follow back!

I love taking flower photos…they sit and wait patiently, never get restless, and don’t talk back, but I do love faces too.

Over the last few years, I’ve grown to really appreciate flowers… It was inevitable, I guess- my maternal grandmother was a florist, and my paternal grandmother had tons of beautiful flower beds all around her house. Not to mention my mom’s flowers… lol And I’ve learned how to maintain my own flowers, too! So it’s natural for me to grab my camera and shoot hundreds of beautiful photos of flowers and nature…

Flowers too have their own personnalities. It is a very good idea to switch face for flowers! I realise it’s been a long time since I take shot from flowers and natue wonder, the city is growing on me, time to move back to the countryside…

I usually take pics of my little ones. It is nice to take a picture of something like a flower that is not moving at a million miles a minute :)

Super excited about this week’s challenge! I’ve recently become really interested in this genre and only just shot a few photos of the tulips my husband gave me for Mother’s Day so that’s what I’m submitting this week.

I love photographing flowers. I use the images for greeting cards as well as framed prints adding textures to canvases that I sell at craft shows and gift shops.
kids and flowers, my favorite subjects – always different, always beautiful.

LOVE Flower photos! It’s so much less stress to get a fantastic flower photo than taking a fantastic face photo. I really believe face photos aren’t my forte, but I’m working on it!

Boy was this week hard to pick which photo to enter. So many pretty flowers to photograph! My entry is titled ‘by the river’ #65 (could change). I found this little bloom on the edge of the river in the mountains of central California while visiting Briceburg. If anyone recognizes what this pretty little thing is is please let me know! :)

I actually am more comfortable photographing flowers/ food/ non-moving objects. They have more patience for me to learn the different settings of my camera. I would love to start doing more shots of people – I’m getting there!

I love taking pictures of flowers! I have 2 boys and trust me flowers are so much easier to keep still long enough to take a picture of. I really prefere to take pictures of things rather than people.

Actually, over the last year or so I’ve grown to LOVE taking pictures of things vs people. I used to be an “exclusive” people picture person, but now I find great joy in capturing the non-human beauty around me, too.

Fun little challenge! Anything without a face is rather challenging for me. I have been embracing that this season and doing quite a bit with flowers. Fabulous work everyone!

Oh my gosh, am I obsessed with taking flower photos? Do you have to even ask?! ;)

Thank you Angie and Amy for this super fun theme this week! I had a hard time narrowing down my favorites to just five, so I didn’t go overboard. I seriously could have filled up a mile-long blog post with flowers!

I love taking flowers but definitely not better than faces. It is very fun moving around flowers and learning more about light and what it does to the petals. Time to go comment on some beautiful flower pictures. :)
