Post image for Photo Editing Fun | Fix It Friday #84

It’s Fix-It Friday, a weekly event where our contributors edit the same photo and our participants can join the fun by editing that same photo their own way and linking into the party! We’ve seen lots of requests from our fans that we use more “difficult” photos for FIF so we have all scoured our files and today we’ll be using a shot of Keli’s adorable baby girl that has definite lighting and color issues with it.

{Edit above by Dana Suggs.}

Original, SOOC image (read more instructions about FIF and learn how to download the high-res image here.  We also have the RAW file available for download this week as well.  You can download it here.  IMPORTANT:  We are both out of town right now with limited internet access, so we apologize in advance if you are have problems downloading the RAW file…we will not be able to help with that this week.)

Copyright Restrictions: You are being given permission by the original photographer (Keli Hoskins) to use this photo as a way to practice your editing skills for the purpose of FIF only. You do not have permission to use this photo for any other purpose. Since the photo was not taken by you, it should not be branded with your watermark unless your watermark says “edited by” on it.

We love our contributor’s edits and can’t wait to see what you come up with!  Click on the contributor’s name below for step-by-step instructions to achieve the same look.

{Sometimes our contributors might give us a surprise by doing more than one fix!}

Now it’s your turn (if you are new to our site there is no need to wait! We encourage everyone to jump right on in and join the fun today!) Click here to download this Fix-It Friday photo and to read our FIF instructions.

Thank you so much to our Contributors for their beautiful FIF Tutorials…they work really hard every week to help us all learn more about photo editing! If you’d like, please tell us about your fix in the comments section below.

I was looking forward to this week’s FIF as a welcome break. I love that it needed some TLC! Thank you.

I worked on this beautiful baby in PS5 1st with a few layers of texture and lighting adjustments. Then in PS5 I worked on the details: under the eyes are blended, center of eyes are reconstructed, and the eyebrows are reconstructed as well. I used LR3 for the Sepia photo texture, file management, & publishing.

thank you all so much for “fixing” my horribly shadowed baby girl (due to the fact that the only shade in our front yard right now is a teeny tiny leafless tree)

I loved this picture. It was fun to work with a more “difficult” fix. It also worked me a little since I’m fairly new with photoshop.

Here’s my fix… http://jeniholland.wordpress.com/2011/01/28/i-heart-photos-fix-it-friday-84/

It’s also great to see everyone else’s fixes. So many different takes on one picture.

I did two versions this time instead of just one, one colour and one b&w. Take a look if you wish http://creativeskyyphotographydesign.blogspot.com/2011/01/fix-it-friday-84-i-heart-faces.html
