Photo Challenge Winners | Smile

The amazing smile photos entered into this photo challenge were just the icing on our “happy birthday to us” week! It was absolutely impossible to look at all those beautiful, happy faces and not have a HUGE smile on our own faces! Thank you for making our birthday week so special for us.

First Place - Leah Hoskins

This week’s Guest Photographer Judge, Jasmine Star, fell in love with her first place pick that was entered by Leah Hoskins. Jasmine wrote: Okay, so really?! A baby in cowboy boots? Could this picture get any cuter? I just wanna grab that baby and bite her toes. Yes, I have a thing with biting babies…please don’t leave your baby unguarded with me in the room. The composition, processing, and expression were perfection and it could totally be a postcard for Texas Living. F’real.

Second Place -Therese Barrett

When I saw this picture, I couldn’t stop laughing. It made my heart smile. This baby deserves the Cute Award and if I could pack her in that suitcase, I might steal her. For a couple hours. Or until she started crying. Whichever came first. The backlighting is beautiful and the emotion captured is delightful!

Third Place – Life as a Lewis

Umm, I’m pretty sure United Colors of Benetton called and wants its future model back! Gorrrrgeous. She looks truly happy and it’s photographed the way one might shoot an adult. It has a headshot quality that I find appealing and the easy processing lends gives it an editorial feel. Love it.

Fourth Place – KB Imagery

This little girl makes me think we’d be fast friends. I’d invite her over to make cupcakes and we’d spend the rest of the day licking icing off our fingers. Her laugh makes me laugh and draws me into the picture. I’m a fan of blown-out backgrounds as it draws complete focus to the subject…and her infectious laugh.

Fifth Place – Rachel Osborne

This picture makes me wanna shop at Ikea. And speak Swedish. I love the simplicity and the burst of color, which is highlighted with the easy processing. I’m especially a fan of the lighting…and the little girl. Too cute!

1| Only ONE photo can be in your entry post. If there are other photos in your entry post, your photo will not be passed on to the weekly judge.

2| Our button must be in your post (you can find our buttons on our “Grab a Button” page.)

3| You must enter a permalink to your blog post or Flickr entry (not a link to the home page of your blog.)

There are times when a link is deleted because participants post to the home page of their blog instead of directly to their entry post.  There are also times we can’t pass a photo on to the Guest Photographer Judge because the entry is missing our button.  Both instances make us so sad!  Be sure to follow these guidelines so that your photo can be considered as a winner for that week’s photo challenge.
