I was taking my son’s 5-year pictures for family when I snapped the smirk photo – he was so done with the whole photo thing! :0) Of course, being the ham that he is, he gave me hugs smile the very next picture. That’s my Goober! :0)

wish i could have found a smirk shot of my cora … she is such a delight and a goof and a happy girl … and yet she keeps getting forgotten (middle child syndrome) in these challenges.
alas, here is the big sister … not so keen on mama’s desire to get back-to-school shots of her … in the midst of a rainstorm.

This was my first week to hear about the i heart faces weekly photo entries (via twitter) & when I saw the topic I immediately thought of this photo of my nephew: http://www.akeiganphoto.com/blog/?p=4138 This is going to be fun -I’ll definitely participate often!
My photo is my funny nephew Parker. I was shooting his family photos, and he was just not having it. His dad asked him to show us his batman face, and the resulting smirk was just fantastic. He LOVES batman. In fact, my sister caught him singing the Jordan Sparks song “Why does love always feel like a battlefield, a battlefield” with his own lyrics, “Oh, I’d love to feel how a BAT feels, a bat feels…” while wearing his costume bat mask around the house. I think I could fill a whole blog with funny little Parker-isms

This is my first entry into one of your challenges. I love the images you’ve pulled out and posted to facebook. The ones so far are wonderful!
My smirk photo is of my niece Mary. What I love about this photo is that’s it’s a spontaneous moment. I had just purchased my 85mm f1.8 lens and was trying it out on family members on our annual beach trip. Mary was sitting at a table drawing, listening to music when I walked into the room and called her name. She looked up, with this, “oh no, not again” look on her face. But, she was a good sport and gave me at least HALF a smile.

First time entry. Love your e-mailed updates. I’m always inspired. My biggest challenge is I don’t have PhotoShop. I use iPhoto and I have Aperture on my computer but I don’t know how to use it.

This is my first time entering one of your weekly contests – I hope I did it correctly!
The picture I submitted is of my “rainbow baby” (which is a baby after the loss of a baby) when he was only 7 days old. Seth was a complete surprise to my husband and I and he’s brought so much joy into our lives with his big personality! The picture I submitted makes my heart smile which is a big deal since the loss of Seth’s big brother just over a year ago. I like to think Seth has such a big personality because God knew how much our family needed to bring true joy and laughter back into our lives
I hope his picture makes your heart smile as much as it does mine. You are truly looking at a miracle when you look at his little face.

This is my son Cooper, a 13 year old with braces. His standard pose is the “serious” look, because he doesn’t want his braces to show (He has promised me as soon as the braces come off, he will smile for me again in photos!!) I was doing everything I could to get him to laugh, finally he started to crack, and I got this great smirk!

Love Love this weeks theme!
Even though my photo this week is not one of my better ones, I couldn’t resist throwing my 5 yr old son under the bus. He is constantly remarking on how he doesn’t have a girlfriend but when I caught him and his little “friend” laying on a blanket under a tree, the smirk that crossed his face was classic : )
