Atlanta
I wanted a photo that truly reflected the location itself: historic Oakland Cemetery. I love the vibrance and clarity of this shot of Civil War tombstones: the green grass, the legibility of the first three tombstones. So many shots are either full of life (florals) or the cold stone of statues and tombstones. This shot has both. I love the patches of shade and sunlight. – Dawn, Atlanta Photo Walk Leader

Austin
Lindsay captured a spontaneous moment of true laughter and framed the shot beautifully. The saturated colors match the dramatic wall perfectly. – Julie, Austin Photo Walk Leader

Bisbee

There were several really wonderful entries for our city. I had so many favorites that I had to judge on technical merit as well for the tie-breaker. For me, the light in this image is glorious, just breathtakingly beautiful and flattering to the model. The colors are lovely and soft, the focus on her eyes is so sharp and her expression is captivating. What won in the end was the composition of this image over the others. Her whole body is posed in this perfect triangle, the eye follows from her delicate wrist, to her gorgeous eyes, then the length of her ornate costume. Every element of this image was completely thought out and executed perfectly! – Karyn , Bisbee Photo Walk Leader
Pauline won a $50 gift certificate from
Boise
This was sure a tough decision! I chose Stephanie’s panorama of the pond because I could not keep my eyes off it! The reflection is absolutely stunning, the colors are so vivid and bright, and I love the little ripple of water in the corner. It adds just the perfect little touch of personality! – Michelle, Boise Photo Walk Leader
Stephanie won a $50 gift certificate from

I really liked that Tracy saw this angle of our group shooting above her group and took the shot. It really tells the story of our photo walk in Chaska. Love everything about it! Great job, Tracy! – Molly, Chaska Photo Walk Leader

It was great to meet each and everyone that came out to the IHF Photo Walk. The difficult time came when I needed to pick a winner, but I only got to pick one (thanks Angie and Amy
). I choose this photo for a few reasons. I love the editing and the coloring of this image, it’s beautiful. I like how the photographer used the trees in the composition and I love the depth of field. But most importantly what made this my #1 photo, it completely reminds me of my all-time favorite painting which happens to reside in the Windy City (A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte, by Georges Seurat). Great job to everyone and thanks for braving the thunderstorms that day. – Boybarian Dad, Chicago Photo Walk Leader

Colorado Springs

I selected this image because I just kept coming back to it as I looked over the selections from our group. I feel like it really captured the feeling of the old building and the history housed within. – Kristi, Colorado Springs Photo Walk Leader

“I’m a sucker for beautiful DOF with bokeh, and this photo drew me in immediately. I just can’t get past those beautiful greens and the tiny pop of orange in the background. – Keli, Columbia Photo Walk Leader

Thank you all for sharing your images from the Columbus Photo Walk, it looked like you all had a fabulous time! I was so disappointed that I was unable to attend, so I was thrilled that I got to live a bit vicariously through all your images! I had plenty of favorites as I was looking through them, but I picked this image by Amanda Mckinley as the one that spoke to me the most about the event. I loved the natural- candid style of this image and the fact that Amanda got creative with her angle. I know the weather was a challenge that day so I liked that this image displayed the joy of being able to pull back the umbrella! Congrats Amanda and congrats to everyone for a successful event! – Jessica Paige
Angie & Andrea were the Columbus Photo Walk Leaders but asked Jessica to choose a winner since they had too many friends and family to choose from:-)

This sweet candid shot of one of our models with her father caught our eye right away. The black and white processing and how Danielle thought to capture this moment is fantastic! Thanks to all of you who braved the Dallas heat! We had such a wonderful time. – Amy & Jenny – Dallas Photo Walk Leaders
Danielle wins a $50 Gift Certificate from
Detroit
This photo is all about contrast… a pristine dancer among the beat-down crumble of a Detroit alleyway. The black and white processing enhances the contrast by bringing out dramatic lines and textures on the building, allowing the softness of the dancer in the doorway to be the focal point. The far away glance creates a mood of longing that just draws me into the photo. – Laurel, Detroit Photo Walk Leader
Jennifer won a $50 gift certificate from
Louisville
It was a tough decision but after comparing images for awhile, I just kept coming back to this one. I love the tread marks in the dirt and how the processing and image together just evoke that old emotion of cruising down the interstate with windows down & a breeze in the hair. – Raven, Louisville Photo Walk Leader
Kari won a $50 gift certificate from
Las Vegas
I love that this shot was of one of the photographers on the photo walk! She looks so cute and sassy in her hat, and it also captures the touristy, Las Vegas feel. – Melissa, Las Vegas Photo Walk Leader

OKC walkers totally rocked it! It was so hard for me to choose a fave; but this one is the one I kept returning to. It is an amazing photo: from the depth of field to the spot on exposure and freezing of action! The vibrant colors and camera tilt really add to the fun of this photo too! Well done, Chiara!! - Melinda, Oklahoma City Photo Walk Leader
